Splash erosion - the initial stage of the soil erosion process
Abstract
Worldwide, soil erosion by water is the most important soil degradation process. Erosion processes are sensitive to rapid rain and intensity variation. The kinetic energy of the rainfall is the driving force of soil erosion by water where splash erosion is the initial stage of this process. The proposed project will be carried out by CTU Prague and BOKU Wien in year 2019. The main subjects of this project are two intensive student courses held in Vienna and in Prague with focus on soil protection as well as on soil and water conservation. All courses have a duration of 4-5 days each, with participation of 14 Czech, 40 Austrian students and 2 (5 in CR) Czech and 2 Austrian teachers. In each country, participation of ca. 10 - 20 native students is expected without any additional budget.
