Research Focus
Soil scientist working in the field of soil nitrogen and carbon cycling across a range of terrestrial ecosystems and associated greenhouse gas exchange in different climate zones. Proven international expert in the use of stable isotope techniques, high resolution sensor data and molecular analysis with biogeochemical modelling, underpinning nutrient transformation and loss with respective microbial mediated pathway. Experience in research project management across different agricultural industries and several international collaborations, developing strategies to mitigate environmentally harmful nutrient losses while maintaining pasture and crop productivity. Research focus:
+ Nitrogen/ Carbon turnover in the soil, plant atmosphere system
+ Biogeochemistry of plant-soil-microbe interactions in agro-ecosystems
+ Biosphere-atmosphere exchange of environmentally important greenhouse gases
+ Balance and magnitude of reactive and non-reactive nitrogen losses from soils
+ Stable Isotopes in Environmental Sciences
