Research Focus
Dr Mathew Herrnegger is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources Management (HyWa) at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, where he also completed his doctorate in hydrology after completing his degree in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Management. He has led a research group since 2013 and works on hydrological modelling and the integration of remote sensing data, artificial intelligence and machine learning in water management applications. His work focuses on the development of hydrological models, the investigation of climate change impacts on water resources and the use of big data in water management. He is involved in various national and international research projects and has published on various topics in hydrology and water management. In addition to his research activities, he is involved in university teaching and supervises students in their scientific work.
