Forschungsschwerpunkt
In meiner Forschung beschäftige ich mich mit dem Kohlenstoff- und Nährstoffkreislauf in Waldökosystemen. Ziel meiner Arbeit ist es, zu verstehen, wie natürliche Störungen, forstliche Maßnahmen und der Klimawandel diese Kreisläufe beeinflussen. Besonders interessiere ich mich für Bodenmikroorganismen, insbesondere Pilze, und ihre Rolle in Pflanze-Boden-Interaktionen sowie in der Funktionsweise von Ökosystemen. Meine Forschung kombiniert Labor- und Feldexperimente, Metaanalysen und Modellierungen. Ich nutze dabei Methoden wie stabile Isotopenanalysen, Messungen von Kohlenstoffflüssen und DNA-basierte Techniken. Ich habe an Forschungsprojekten zu Windwurf, Borkenkäferbefall und Kahlschlägen in den Europäischen Alpen, zu Holzernte im Dinarischen Gebirge, zu Insektenausbrüchen in Nordskandinavien und zu Dürreperioden im Himalaya mitgearbeitet.
