Research Focus
My empirical research focuses on dendrometer, tree-ring and forest inventory studies to analyse growth in response to climate and inter and intra-specific tree competition. These studies encompass a wide range of tree species, particularly in dry sites and high-altitude locations. My scientific interest includes forest growth modelling and long-term predictions of forest management scenarios. In this context I investigate various management practices such as thinning, pure and mixed stands as well as uneven-aged forests. To support my models, I utilizes remote sensing data. My projections not only cover tree growth, but also include calculations of assortments, wood quality and ecosystem services. I teach forest growth and forest mensuration at an undergraduate and graduate level.
