The sustainable use of energy and material cycles in agriculture is central to the future-proof production of food, feed, energy and biogenic raw materials. Bioenergy systems, renewable energy systems in agriculture, agri-photovoltaics and smart farming in particular offer new opportunities to efficiently combine agricultural production and energy generation. The Institute of Agricultural Engineering analyses and develops innovative processes, machines and systems at the interface between agriculture and energy systems. The aim is to create integrated, resource-efficient solutions and provide a sound planning basis for sustainable agriculture.
