Dynamic scheduling of daily home health care services using time-dependent multimodal transport
- Ressourcen und gesellschaftliche Dynamik
Abstract
The aim of this project is to develop dynamic planning tools for supporting daily scheduling of home health care services. Extending previous research, we primarily focus on the multimodal choice of the transport mode as well as on the dynamic and stochastic aspects of the problem (e.g. congestion, service times, or customers). In this way, we want to facilitate the use of active, more environmentally friendly and multimodal transport and to visualize its benefits for the users. Therefore, the computed schedules are evaluated using both economical (e.g. costs, travel times) and environmental (e.g. greenhouse gas emissions) objectives. To solve real-life sized instances within reasonable computation time the method of choice consists of Meta-/Matheuristics in combination with simulation based optimization.
