Scientific cooperation for development, assembly and scientifically assisted test run of a 20 kW fluidized bubbling bed for gasification process analysis
Abstract
The increasing number of biomass heating- and cogeneration plants has resulted in a measurably growing demand for wood in the last few years. Furthermore, the paper and wood panel industry has acquired a strong competitive position in the raw materials market. To contribute to the energy production based on biomass in the future, it’s necessary to switch to alternative renewable raw materials which are preferably not competing with the material utilization. Potential raw materials are first and foremost biogenic raw and residual materials from agricultural plants. The project serves to develop and build a hot bench scale 20 kW bubbling fluidized bed reactor for gasification process analysis of biomass. The use of agricultural feedstock materials is aimed. A special focus is put on the high ash contents of these input materials.
