Abstract
The Project "FEHRA_Kiefernholzverwendung" deals with Scots pine growth, harvesting and utilization in Austria. The purpose of the project is to promote Scots pine forest management by educating forest manager in silvicultural practices to promote high qulity timber production. The ecological, and economical role of Scots pine is investigated. A literature review, stake holder workshops and training sessions are organiced. Excursions will show best practice examples for Scots pine management and will demonstrate Advantages and disadvantages of using socots pine.The procjects aims for a better network among companies, research and education for Scots pine forest Management in Austria.
