Sustainable food supply in the field of public catering in Vienna
Abstract
Inspired by the Bristol-Study „Who feeds Bristol“, the City of Vienna commissioned an analysis of the situation of public catering in Vienna. The following questions should be focused on: - How can the city of Vienna positively influence the use of local and regional food especially in the public sector? Which tools can be used? - How can the city of Vienna encourage sustainable and organic food production within local agriculture and what potential would that have? - What can the public sector do to foster organic, local, regional food supply concerning legislation, demand etc.? - What could Stakeholder contribute to this topic? - Are there „best practice examples“ of other cities which Vienna could refer to? Aim of the project is a detailed analysis of the above mentioned questions.
