Abstract
Carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) are of outstanding importance for high end applications in aerospace. Nevertheless material failure due to delamination, caused by shear forces or fatigue is an unsolved problem. The goal of this project is to substantially enhance the relevant mechanical properties of CFRP by implementation of nano sized fillers in new synergistic combinations and with tailored orientation on the nanometer scale. Processes will be monitored and adapted continuously with regard to industrial production and efficient upscaling to allow subsequent commercialization by industry partner Secar.
