INtegrated Slow, Green and Healthy Tourism Strategies
- Lebensraum und Landschaft
- Ressourcen und gesellschaftliche Dynamik
Abstract
Regions in INSiGHTS all have outstanding natural and cultural resources in need to be protected. At the same time, they have a great potential related to the fast growing recreational trend of green and healthy tourism, to make them attractive destinations. These features put these regions in a unique position to sustainably utilise their resources. This objective will be supported by the main project outputs: regional slow, green and healthy tourism strategies and smart models offering novel solutions for multi-level organisational capacity building; integrated touristic product development linked to greenways; and promotion of green and healthy living. These solutions will be tested jointly through pilot actions. Main results of INSiGHTS thus will be improved governance frameworks for integrated sustainable tourism development, creating a better balance between protection and sustainable exploitation of local resources and also contributing considerably to socio-economic development.
