- Nachwachsende Rohstoffe und neue Technologien
Abstract
The project importance is helping the target group, which consists of female engineers to get into the green job market and decrease the gender gap. The project seeks to create a lasting capacity at the IUG for innovative training of practical skills in energy engineering and to create awareness in the Palestinian population of the opportunities with green engineering education at IUG and beyond. The project in particular will contribute in • Developing renewable energy laboratory at the university. • Developing the training programme to enhance the practical skills of our students. • Enhancing female students' skills in issues related to green job market. • Motivating female high-school alumni to start studying renewable energy engineering by organizing workshops and targeted information events in schools • Enhance faculty members' abilities in renewable energy issues to convey the most recent information to our students. • Motivating female students to complete their university education by special mentoring and introduction to role models at the university • Developing a new course based on experiences with maker-movement-inspired teaching at BOKU to enhance the practical skills of our student to be implemented in the curriculum. • Involve master students in research related to renewable energy sources. • Create a research group at IUC who will work in renewable energy related issues • Increase experience of BOKU researchers for working in energy engineering the Near-East region The foreseen cooperation between the IUG and BOKU in this APPEAR programme will draw the roadmap for achieving these objectives benefiting from the expertise of the Austrian partner in this field
