Invigoration of smallholders landuse by forestry in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Abstract
The project region is characterized by smallholders ownership and a great potential for wood production. Many agriculturally used areas on difficult sites recently became fallow. Forestry practices at this areas, adjusted to sites quality, could be a contribution for smallholders economic survival, as it could be shown in some older reforested stands. The project implemented a series of plots for demonstrations and experiments. Results of analises are used for a dissemination program.
