Abstract
The goal of the Project was the development and establishment of a suitable molecular protocol to obtain a genetic fingerprint (or “microbial pedigree”) of the microbial contaminants found in art and cultural heritage objects, -i.e. paintings and sculptures- using the Nanopore sequencing technology platform. The main purpose was to develop a protocol that was easy for the operator to use, fast and relatively low cost.
