Potential of green spaces and landscapes

Urban open green spaces and landscapes are of crucial importance to mitigate the negative effects of densification and to provide equal acces for all societal groups. They can therefore contribute to spatial justice and social cohesion (see Schwab 2017, Öffentlicher Raum und soziale Kohäsion, Eine explorative Studie zur Nutzung des öffentlichen Raums in Wien durch männliche Asylsuchende, i.A. der MA 19). The study explores the variety of uses to best exploit the scarce green spaces of the city.
