APCC Special Report on land use, land management and climate change
Abstract
The APCC special report and land use, land management and climate change (SR-LU) is intended to collect recent information on these issues, spanning from already occurring to expected impacts of climate change on land use and vice-versa, to the future role of land use in climate change adaptation and mitigation, regulating frameworks and relevant socioeconomic and ecological contexts, including the embeddedness of Austria in global dynamics, and the role of production-side as well as of demand-side measures for sustainable land management. SR-LU will systematically review, summarize and assess the state of knowledge related to these multifaceted and highly integrated topics and challenges related to the complex relationship of land use, management and climate change. SR-LU will focus on scientific insights gained in Austrian research projects and where required – refer to international sources. SR-LU aims to do so by developing and pursuing an open process that facilitates and builds upon contributions by the full community of Austrian researchers and experts active in the field of land-system research.
