The demography check as a prerequisite for the strategic orientation of the local development concept of the Geistthal-Södingberg municipality

This application-oriented basic research project will be carried out in close cooperation with the municipality of Geistthal-Södingberg - namely the local council and the spatial planner - and the client. The project serves to sensitise those stakeholders who are responsible for spatial planning at the local level to the importance of demographic developments and their consequences for spatial development and local spatial planning, and to show the spatial conditions, possibilities and limitations for a self-determined and dignified life in old age within one's own four walls as well as the municipality's need for professional health-care support with regard to the better use of local resources in order to build up an integrative care for older people. The aim of this project is to encourage similarly structured municipalities in the LEADER-Region Lipizzanerheimat to look more closely at demography in the context of local spatial planning and community development.
