Extended Parks in Viennese Gründerzeit Areas
Abstract
European cities are becoming steadily more densely built and inhabited, which increases the pressure on green spaces. Therefore, the question is raised how to increase green spaces in the dense city. The potentials for enlarging neighborhood (Grätzel) parks in the densely built city are surveyed and their possible exploitation is presented. The survey is carried out after selecting subjectively underserved areas according to the quality of life survey of MA 18 (2020). Potentials are analysed qualitatively on the spatial-formative and on the urban-climatic as well as on the organizational level. The evaluation is carried out graphically and descriptively, the exhaustion of the potentials is graphically represented in various stages.
