Root structures in soil bioengineering systems and applications
Abstract
Root structures in engineering biological systems and applications: The root development, root extension (lengths and depths) and structural architectures of plants relevant to soil bioengineering and vegetation technology are investigated. In the case of woody plants, hole planting and inlay or live stake planting are compared. For grasses and herbs, spot and broadcast seeding are compared. The long-term experiments are carried out in situ in artificial slopes, root grids, root tables, boxes and root trainers. The results are published scientifically (dissertations, master theses)
