Teaching course "Climate change & sustainability - our world of tomorrow"
Abstract
The course is dedicated to the topic of climate change/climate justice in different facets and covers the range from deepening the understanding of the problem to climate impacts and possible solutions. The course builds on the findings of various research projects carried out at the Centre for Global Change and Sustainability with the aim of developing ways, methods and communication formats to effectively and motivatingly communicate the topic of climate change to young target groups (http://climates.boku.ac.at/infos/). Over the 2 years, the participants have the opportunity for a lot of exchange with like-minded people, to gain in-depth knowledge on the topic of climate change and sustainability and to learn about innovative approaches from experts from the field. In addition, they are encouraged and accompanied to become active themselves and to contribute to a sustainable world and society through individual and systemic development. First, the students are picked up from their existing climate knowledge and the status quo is examined. In addition to the deepening of problem understanding, we want to deal with approaches to solutions and positive images of the future and how these can be actively shaped by all of us.
