Bioeconomy Austria
Abstract
Establishment of a network in preparation for a bioeconomy cluster based on the call for funding applications for measures to increase the use of wood as a raw material (M9 - § 3 Z 9 Forest Fund Act), Funding objects 10.2.1 and 10.2.3 According to the tender guidelines, the bioeconomy cluster to be prepared within the framework of the funding project aims to, - to promote the horizontal and vertical cooperation and networking of different actors and companies in the bioeconomy sector, - exploit synergies and thus cost advantages, and strengthen the regional economy and its cooperation, - to network the regional and thematic clusters/hubs of the federal states and to link them with the activities of the federal government and the EU, - to promote inter-company cooperation along joint value chains and to identify joint projects, in particular with reference to forestry, the further processing and use of renewable raw materials with a focus on wood, agricultural primary production and the circular economy, - and thereby to contribute to an improvement of the material biomass use in the sense of the bioeconomy under consideration of climate protection and competing land use interests. - Furthermore, the above-mentioned structures will be designed to cover the entire breadth of the bioeconomy, in line with the contents of the Austrian Bioeconomy Strategy, with activities relating to the wood sector being prioritized first. The applicant consortium under the leadership of ecoplus. Niederösterreichs Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH consists of a total of ten partner organizations operating at the provincial or federal level, which, due to their technical expertise and institutional mandate, can significantly advance the development, networking and publicization of the wood-based bioeconomy and other thematic fields in the field of bioeconomy and circular economy.
