Harmonized data management towards an agri-ecological eLTER cluster "Marchfeld" - MUBIL trial Rutzendorf
Abstract
In order to get prepared to be included in an ESFRI RI scheme, the sites Fuchsenbigl, Rutzendorf and Gross-Enzersdorf are already working in a cross-institutional agroecological working group with the aim to integrate these sites into an “agroecological eLTER cluster Marchfeld”. One challenge of the implementation of a supra-institutional eLTER cluster will be the harmonized management and provision of long-term data, especially for the planned data reporting, as will be required for the eLTER RI. Experimental data are currently variously structured and stored in different databases of the single partner institutions. At least selected data - standard observations (SO) and other site specific soil and crop data - will be transferred into one database to enable regular inter-site data reporting. Selection and compilation of relevant agroecological metadata, long-term experimental data and socio-economic data from LTER site Rutzendorf, MUBIL trial at the institutions BOKU-IfÖLin a central data base with the support of AREC (outstanding experiences in relational databases) and BOKU-SEC for socio-ecologic Standard Observations (SOs).
