Abstract
As part of the research focus "LeLeW - Learning and Teaching through Competitions", the case study Marktanger SEHall is being implemented on behalf of the municipality of Hall in Tyrol. Development and design potentials are to be worked out for an area in the historic and listed surroundings of the municipality of Hall in Tyrol that has become vacant following the demolition of a building, within the framework of a student competition. The research will look for discussion bases for the decision-making process in the city administration for the future-oriented, climate-friendly and sustainable development of a new, reclaimed, inner-city open space. The research questions relate to: - Opportunities, possibilities of real-life settings in the field of Third Mission. - Learning success and motivation of the participants, - Impact on project operators and the public, - Added value of real-life settings for landscape architectural design tasks in design teaching, - Challenges and optimisation approaches in teaching and research
