SDG 12 ("Responsible Consumption and Production")
Abstract
The SDG 12 working group is part of the UniNEtZ project (Austria's universities and the sustainable development goals) and focuses on the topics of waste and circular economy. The aim of the collaboration is to consistently eliminate particularly harmful substances from products or at least substitute them in order to ensure pollutant-free secondary raw materials and safe clean cycles. The availability of high-quality secondary raw materias and their contribution to environmental protection will be determined by modern recycling technologies and sustainable processes in the recycling industry itself. As part of the collaboration, indicators are developed to assess the climate relevance of waste management and the circular economy. The participation also includes participation in meetings, participation in UniNetz-wide programs and the development of publications.
