Building engineering capacity for sustainable hydraulic infrastructure management in Iraq - Phase 2
Abstract
The objective of the project is to support the University of Mosul (UoM) and its faculty of the Department of Dams and Water Resources (DDWR) to improve their knowledge and capacity to educate the next generation of Iraqi engineers who will contribute to the sustainable management of Iraq’s hydraulic infrastructure. The project builds on the previous project EngCap_Irak and constitutes its phase II. It focuses on training and capacity building to conduct field measurements of flow, sediment transport and bathymetric surveys as well as related simulations to create computer models for the simulation of rivers and reservoirs and contributes to the implementation/adaptation of hydraulic structures.
