Abstract
The mechanical and fracture properties of different wood species are determined. In order to characterize elastic properties microtesile tests in combination with 2-dim. strain measurements are performed. The fracture properties (for example specific fracture energy) are determined using the new method of wedge-splitting in combination with acoustic emission measurements.
