Abstract
Forests, especially in the tropics, fulfill a wide range of globally significant functions, such as carbon sequestration. These ecosystems face increasing pressure from human activities and natural disturbances (climate change, etc.). This project aims to document changes in forest structure using remote sensing data. The study examines both undisturbed forest ecosystems and areas that have been reforested or newly afforested. In addition to typical forests, the project also focuses on agroforestry systems and mangrove forests.
