Silvicultural planning in secondary Norway spruce and Scots pine forests.
Abstract
Treatment alternatives for pure secondary spruce stands and Scots pine stands respectively at low elevations are evaluated. Tree species suitability is evaluated in a GIS-supported approach. For the ranking of stands according to the urgency of conversion GIS-supported techniques are developed. Objective of the study is the development of operational techniques for tree species selection and for silvicultural planning. Preliminary tasks in the implementation of a spatial decision support system (SDSS).
- silvicultural planning
- stands conversion
- decision making
- multiple purpose forestry
- decision support
