Studies on the structure-function-relationship of S-layer proteins of Bacillus stearothermophilus. (GZ30.659/4-III/2a/)
Abstract
To obtain information on the sequence identity of S-layer proteins of closely related strains the gene encoding the S-layer protein from Bacillus stearothermophilus ATCC 12980 will be cloned and sequenced. Furthermore, those S-layer protein domains which are responsible for binding the secondary cell wall polymers in B. stearothermophilus wild-type strains and in an oxygen-induced variant shall be identified.
