Abstract
The heat island if the city of Linz is studied by different methods. First a climatological analysis of the environmental measurement network is done. Measurements with moving platforms are filling the gaps of the point information from the climate network. The result is linked with information from special temporary measurements and short field campaigns. Special emphasis is put on the understanding of airflow as a result of city structure, terrain and mesoscale influence and the interaction with the city structure.
