Abstract
Within the framework of the international "Substitution Project", established by the "FAO/ECE Team of PR Specialists in the Forest Sector" a survey was done within the Austrian forest industries to assess scope and reasons for wood substitution. Wood substitution included substitution by other wood products as well as by non-wood products.
