The project contributes to the modification of lignocellulosic materials which may further be used for the production of high-quality composites. The aim of the project is the development, adaptation, and application of methods and analytical procedures to evaluate the success of biotechnological wood modifications. The evaluation of the modifications by structural, chemical, physical, and mechanical methods concentrates on investigations of the surface properties, the cell wall structure, and the physical-mechanical properties.
