Application of Post Harvest Management Techniques to improve Export Quality of Sri Lankan Cut Flowers and Green Production

Production and marketing of cut-flowers and cut-greens is of high economic interest in plant production. The need to gain and maintain certain high leveled quality-standards is on international markets obligatory. Therefore applications of adaptad postharvest-management-techniques as part of quality management is absolutely necessary. So main part of this project is the implemention of selected techniques in the cut-flower production and marketing chain of Sri Lanka. Mrs M. Hettiarachchi as main researcher in these investigations is able to stay and live in Austria by a scholarship of the ÖAD (Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Austria).
