Control of small wastewater treatment plants.
Abstract
It is well known, that a lot of small wastewater-treatment plants (<500 EGW p.e.) are not able to meet todays requirements. In most cases this is due to poor maintenance and not adequate control strategies. Therefore the result of this project will be a PC-based unit which on one hand identifies and records unusual operating conditions. On the other hand it offers simple and effective control strategies. All system-functions can be operated by remote control via GSM. The main activity of IWGA/SIG is the development of a full-automatic ORP based controler which allows COD- and Nitrogen-removal to a very large extent. The economic value of the system can be proved.
