Abstract
Improvement of education and healthcare as well as intruduction of advanced irrigation based agricultural systems and sustainable multifunctional forest management are the main components of the Panam Project. Because of extraordinary lack but also high demand of forests in the region natural timberlines as well as forest types have to be identified followed by defining their natural potential of contributions to society and related carrying capacities. Main goal is to quantify multifunctional afforestation models for implementation
