Impact of L-threonine supplementation in proteinreduced diets for broilers on growth and slaughter performance
Abstract
For broilers more than 10 amino acids are essential. In broiler rations with high content of protein, the amino acid supply is adequate. Protein rich feed stuff are expensive and an oversupply of protein overloads the environmental. In the present trail conventional diets (FG1) was compared to diets with 5 % lower protein content and addition of 3 levels of L-threonine (FG2, 3 and 4). All other nutrients like energy, lysine, methionine, tryptophan, minerals and vitamins in the diets were equal. The trial with 4 groups was carried out at poultry trail station, Aeussere Wimitz 3, A-9311 Kraig with 293 broiler chicks. At the end of the growing period on day 36 the weight of the broilers of FG1, 2, 3 and 4 was 1956, 1958, 1870 and 1970 g and the feed conversion rate 1.81, 1.82, 1.92 and 1.83, respectively. A lower content of protein without addition of L-threonine caused a worth growth and slaughter performance.
