Abstract

Borders of Austrian Aquatic Bioregions were created in a map 1:500 000. Various maps with different themes (geology, river catchments, altitude lines, vegetation, topography and biocoenoses) were blended. Inaccuracies occurred due to different scales of these maps. Currently, borderlines of all bioregions are refined based on defined criteria.
