Abstract

A charred grain store of remarkable size and content from the La-Tène settlement Sandberg (Rosldorf, Lower Austria, 3rd century BC)forms the subject of the present investigation. The cereals in the store will provide information on the diet of the inhabitants of the town-like settlement and on their storage practices. The spectrum of weeds will help to characterise the ecological conditions on the production sites and the agricultural techniques and mothods used. Light will also be shed on the function of the building, in which the store was found.
