Risk analysis and Risk management in torrent catchments
Abstract
For the correct assessment of hazardous torrential situations and a deduction of accordingly mitigation measures different investigations are necessary. Of particular importance are event documentation, event analysis, assessment of mass movements and the dimensioning of active and passive countermeasures. The goal of this project is to advance the methodology of data collection in the field just after an event, the continuous sampling of data at torrential research areas, the improvement and development of sensor technology and the real time data collection of torrential hazards to a better dimensioning of mitigation measures.
