Monitoring of a fish migration facility at Raabs/Thaya

Within the frame of the project “Prototypes of fish migration facilities at the river Thaya” a standardized fish ecological monitoring programme is conducted to evaluate the functionality of the fish passage facility at the “Herrschaftswehr”, Raabs a.d. Thaya. The monitoring programme includes a quantitative assessment of the fish fauna downstream the weir as well as the assessment of the diversity and number of individuals passing the fish migration facility during spring (1.04.-9.06.05) and autumn (26.08.-12.09.05). The monitoring programme is conducted as a cooperation between the Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecosystem Management, BOKU, Vienna and the “Ecological Station Waldviertel”.
