Investigation of methods suitable for the production of liposomal drugs
Abstract
Alternative drug-delivery-concepts for biopharmaceuticals are of increasing importance. During the last decades, more and more non-invasive therapeutical concepts were investigated. The aim of this kind of application is focused on better compliance for the patients, specific drug targeting and reduction of severe side effects. Therefore, strategies are strongly related with the biochemical properties of the drug and the preparation technology used. The aim of this project is focused on the establishment of liposomal formulations suitable to encapsulate proteins. Therefore, we are working on 3 tropics: 1.) investigation of a mild technique to entrap proteins efficiently, 2.) characterisation of the final product in respect to biochemical properties and 3.) establishment of in-vitro studies for the liposomes.
