Heat budget model of the river Traun

Abstract
A goal of the work is the creation of specialized documents as planning and decision making criteria concerning the heat balance of the Traun-Ager-Voeckla-System in Upper Austria. The analysis ranges to the river Traun downstream the Traunsee, the river Ager downstream the Attersee and the river Voeckla. Thus about a total length of 160 km is modeled. A 1-D hydrodynamic model with energy balance calculation (EPD-Riv) is implemented for the simulation. On the basis of different scenarios such as actual condition, natural state, full use of the consensus quantity and the consensus quantity increase the different effects of the thermal loads are computed.
