Abstract
Developing a knowledge base for increased and improved use of woody plants to stabilise land degradation, to strengthen the sustainable production of food and to create additional income from marketing woody plant products in African highland regions by interdisciplinary scientific collaboration between plant breeding, forest ecology and organic farming and by sharing of human as well as technical resources between BOKU and ICRAF.
