nextland
- Lebensraum und Landschaft
Abstract
The aim of the project nextland is the creation of a database of Austrian contemporary landscape architecture. It will foster a discussion about the quality of the designed and planned open spaces as single projects as well as in reference to urban planning and architecture. Furthermore the database will provide an important source for research projects concerning contemporary landscape architecture in Austria. The Institute of Landscape Architecture, together with the ÖGLA (Österreichische Gesellschaft für Landschaftsplanung und Landschaftsarchitektur) has conceived the database and will provide scientific supervision. A pool of extern curators will select the projects to be inserted into the database. In this way, they will assure the quality of the projects, judged according to predefined criteria. The project is still in its first phases, which are supported by the Bundeskanzleramt Abteilung.kunst nextland will be part of www.nextroom.at as database of Austrian contemporary landscape architecture.
