Fishecological Investigation in line with the sanitaion programme from the Old Danube 2006

Fish ecological investigations in 2006 are conducted to improve the knowledge about the colonisation of macrophytes in the Lower part of the Old Danube in Vienna (a backwater part of the Danube). The macrophytes are controlled in terms of usability through different fish species and stages. Additonally, the investigationes are desigend to receive information on the reduction of fish larvae via harvesting activities of the macorphytes, which are conducted to enable better swimming facilites and recreational areas for people
