FEIS-Failure Experience Improvement System
Abstract
The main target of the project is the development of a database with integrated analysis capacities (FEIS, Tool, Failure Experience Improvement System). The tool is able to record new failures, which are categorized and analyzed. Furthermore the user is provided with instructions to minimize negative aftereffects. The permanent risk minimization leads to higher safety for the critical infrastructure of water supply (supply guarantee, crisis and catastrophe prevention). The FEIS-Tool boasts analysis opportunities that allow for the detection of causal interdependencies and the precise description of the structure of such error networks. With the array of implemented instructions the network effects of an error can be reduced and the probability to hold the system in a stable state increases. In a setting or situation like crisis management and crisis communication people can refer to existing experiences in similar cases and are able to understand the impacts in their own system.
