Project development and architectural competition are the most important planning phases which enable the potential to produce energy efficient and sustainable architecture. Currently no suitable standards or criteria for these project stages exist. It is the objective of this project to develop custom-made concepts and to implement energy related aspects in architectural competitions. Relevant results of the process will be available as a practical guideline which is supported by key-players and stakeholders. To enable the implementation of those instruments in the best way, following organisations will be involved: federal chamber of architects and engineering consultants, Landesbaudirektion Steiermark, Steiermärkische Krankenanstaltsges.mbH (KAGes), Wohnraumverwaltung des Österreichischen Austauschdienstes (ÖAD), Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft (BIG), cooperative housing society (GBV), interested property developers and architects, experts in project development, architectural competitions, public procurement law, etc. The implementation of three architectural competitions with some of the above mentioned actors will enable evaluation and adaption of the developed tools.
