Abstract
Extreme hydrological events like floods and droughts are often interpreted as a response to environmental change. But the quantification of the change signal is difficult with respect to unprecise climate change scenarios or the lack of homogeneous reference periods. Furthermore total runoff comprises of particular sub processes, which exhibit different sensitivities to environmental changes. The objective of the project, which is designed as a pre-feasibility study for a comprehensive research project, are the inventory of existing process based models, the testing of dynamic modular model assumptions and the preparation of a draft project application.
