Abstract
The study „Implementing study for watermanagement and development in floodplains“ aim to develop strategies for sustainable reduction of flood risks in Upper Austrian catchments. The emphasis will be put on “residual risk” and “summation effects” to be able to provide recommendations for water management strategies in flood prone areas, derived out of regional development concepts, local mitigation measures and the EU-flood directive. A modular composition guarantees separate analyses of monetary loss assessment and hydraulic as well as hydrologic parameters. Additionally the transfer of results to other catchment areas shall be enabled due to sophisticated and funded analyses.
